MAPPING TREE FUNCTIONS

This section covers the basic mapping tree functions. They include add, modify, and delete. These functions will allow you to build and maintain your mapping tree.
 

 
Add Child
  1. Using your mouse pointer, click on the node where you want to add a child.
  2. Click on the "Add Child" button in the toolbar. It looks like this:
  3. Fill in the label and web address in the node properties box located just below the mapping tree.
  4. Click on "Update" when you have finished entering the data for the child.
  5. The label for the child should match what you entered.

REMINDER: You are limited to six (6) children per node.
 

 
Add Sibling
  1. Using your mouse pointer, click on the node where you want to add a sibling.
  2. Click on the "Add Sibling" button in the toolbar. It looks like this:
  3. Fill in the label and web address in the node properties box located just below the mapping tree.
  4. Click on "Update" when you have finished entering the data for the sibling.
  5. The label for the sibling should match what you entered.

REMINDER: Each node can only have six (6) siblings.
 

 
Modify Existing Node
  1. Using your mouse pointer, click on the node you want to modify.
  2. Fill in the label and web address in the node properties box located just below the mapping tree.
  3. Click on "Update" when you have finished entering the data.
  4. The label for the placeholder should match what you entered.
REMINDER: In lieu of manually typing in a web address, you can use launch the browser, navigate to the desired web site, and then click on the "Fill with Current Web Site" button in the node properties box.
 

 
Delete Node
  1. Using your mouse pointer, click on the node you want to delete.
  2. Click on the "Delete" button in the toolbar. It looks like this:
  3. When the confirmation popup window is displayed, click on "Yes" to proceed with the delete.
WARNING: If you delete a node that has offspring, all of the children will also be deleted. There is NO "undo" command so be careful when deleting nodes!
