PUBLISH — BUTTONBOX™ SERVER

The ButtonBox™ Desktop software checks for organizational updates twice per day. In order to distribute your updated mapping files and images to your organization members, you will need to publish the data to the ButtonBox™ server.

A username and password is required to access that server. If this information has not been added via the Options dialog, you will be prompted for it when you click on the "Publish" button.

Instructions:

  1. After saving the changes to your mapping file, click on the "Publish Mappings" button on the main window.
  2. Make sure "ButtonBox Enterprises server" is selected for your publication destination.
  3. Finally, click on the "Publish" button.

Your mapping file and images (as requested) are FTP'ed from their temporary location(s) to the ButtonBox Enterprises server. A popup window will show you the status of your file transfer(s).

If the Desktop is active on your PC, a request will be sent for the application to read its new "My Buttons" mappings. You will not need to restart the application to see the changes; simply click on the "My Buttons" category.

If the people in your organization have the ButtonBox™ Desktop active on their PCs, they will receive their updated mapping data within 12 hours. Otherwise they will receive the update the next time they launch the Desktop application.
