PUBLISH — LOCAL MACHINE

The "My Buttons" category on the ButtonBox™ Desktop provides the user a rudimentary mechanism for defining a series of custom links to their favorite web sites. For more information on the "My Buttons" category, please click here.

If you have switched to a more advanced hierarchy for their "My Buttons", it is necessary to "publish" the new mapping file locally. "My Buttons" definitions are defined on a per user basis.

NOTE: Once you have published your advanced "My Buttons" mapping, the ButtonBox™ Desktop will automatically launch the Mapping Utility for future changes.

Instructions:

  1. After saving the changes to your mapping file, click on the "Publish Mappings" button on the main window.
  2. Make sure "Local Machine" is selected for your publication destination.
  3. Finally, click on the "Publish" button.

Your mapping file and images (as requested) are copied from their temporary location(s) to the directory utilized by the ButtonBox™ Desktop application.

If the Desktop is active on your PC, a request will be sent for the application to read its new "My Buttons" mappings. You will not need to restart the application to see the changes; simply click on the "My Buttons" category.

Revert Mapping:
If you would like to revert to the simplified method for configuring "My Buttons" inside of the ButtonBox™ Desktop software, click on the "Revert Mapping" button.

WARNING:If you proceed with the revertion, all of the web sites you have added below the first subtier WILL BE DELETED!
Since your currently selected mapping file must be modified, there is NO undo for this action. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
