OVERVIEW

The Mapping Utility provides a graphical interface for managing web links utilitized by the ButtonBox™ Desktop. However, before attempting to utilize the Mapping Utility, you should first understand how the web link hierarchy works.

The best way to explain the correlation between the hierarchy (also referred to as the "mapping tree") and the information displayed in ButtonBox™ Desktop side panel is with an example. Since we are only interested in understanding the principles behind the ButtonBox™ Desktop at this point, we will start with an existing hierarchy.

The mouse pointer is used to navigate the ButtonBox™ Desktop. The buttons will appear to highlight (i.e. the background color will become brighter) as the mouse pointer is moved over the various category buttons.

In order to choose one of the categories, the user places the mouse pointer over the desired button and clicks the left mouse button (Figure 1).
