PUBLISH "MY BUTTONS"

If you want to use your new "My Buttons" mapping file with the ButtonBox™ Desktop, it is necessary to "publish" it locally. Until you do this step, the ButtonBox™ Desktop will continue to utilize its own simplified "My Buttons" mapping file.
NOTE: "My Buttons" definitions are defined on a per user basis.

Instructions for publishing the mapping files locally can be found here.

If you have the ButtonBox™ Desktop side panel displayed, the changes will take place immediately after you perform the local publish. Otherwise you will see the new mappings the next time you launch the application.

NOTE: Once you have published your advanced "My Buttons" mapping, the ButtonBox™ Desktop will automatically launch the Mapping Utility when you select "Configure My Buttons" from the popup menu.

Revert Mapping

If for some reason, you no longer want to use the Mapping Utility to manage your customized "My Buttons" mapping file, you can revert it to the simplified ButtonBox™ Desktop format via the publish dialog.

NOTE: The "Revert Mapping" button is ONLY enabled in the publish dialog when the Mapping Utility is being used to support the "My Buttons" mapping file.

WARNING: Only the primary (root) web site and its six (6) children will be retained. All web sites you have added beyond the first set of children will be deleted.

When you click on the "Revert Mapping" button, a confirmation popup window will be displayed (Figure 5). If you confirm the revertion, the "My Buttons" mapping file is first truncated and then published locally. Once that is completed, the Mapping Utility exits.
